Barry's Dustbin
The dustbin collects items that have reduced or no commercial value.
Items are in the Dustbin for a variety of reasons:
Too expensive to repair. Most of these units are offered for their parts. Some could be repaired as a hobby, but not as a commercial project. It makes little sense for us to invest $100.00 repairing a unit that could be sold for only $75.00.
Parts no longer available. As a hobby, many of these units can be repaired if you are handy at fabricating parts or can find another unit to scavenge parts. Scavenging of parts is not always possible, however, because the part in question may have failed on all or most of the failed units in the field.
Trade-in of a tired old warrior.
Customer purchased a new unit and asked us to dispose of the old. Some of these items are in working condition, but they could never meet our high standards for used equipment offered for sale.
Old stock. From time to time we think a product will be popular, but it is not. Ultimately we get stuck with an item that no one wants. We hate to throw anything away. Hopefully, if it is priced right in the Dustbin, we can find a good home for the unit.
